Most Multiple Listing Services (MLS) offer a means of downloading data through Excel which the appraiser can use to develop the analysis of market trends over a specified time period. This webinar uses a case study approach to walk appraisers through the process of analyzing a residential real estate market by employing basic and advanced Excel tools. Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to: • Use the features of the Excel software to manage a large amount of data • Refine data into a format for analysis • Identify market conditions and trends • Analyze the effect on the subject property • Narrow down General Market Data to Specific Data and find the universe of potentially comparable offerings and sales.
Instructor Bios: Robert Frazier is a real estate and valuation educator and consultant. He retired from the Department of Housing and Urban Development in 2017 where he had served as acting director, deputy director, and housing policy advisor for Single Family Valuation Policy for FHA. Frazier is a Certified General Appraiser and a former Real Estate Broker and has been an instructor in real estate, appraisal, and mortgage finance since 1979. He holds the SRA designation as a member of the Appraisal Institute, is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and has a wide range of experience in residential, commercial, and industrial property markets, analytics and workflow processing.
Cathy Horwitz has over 30 years’ experience in classroom teaching and application support with personal computers and has instructed on the MS Office Suite since 1989. Cathy has developed curriculum and trained in the corporate, retail, distributor and direct sales environments. Prior to training as an independent consultant since 1993, Cathy was an employee of Zenith Data Systems for 17 years. Cathy is known for customizing her classes based on the needs of the individual students and for providing realistic business examples to complement her training. Cathy is a high energy trainer with a flair for training the adult student.
